Systems Analyst — AI & Automation

Integer Holdings Corporation · Trenton, Georgia · Based in Henegar, Alabama

Operations leader turned systems analyst. I spent two decades running field operations and technical teams in broadband, then moved onto the plant floor at Integer — and worked my way from the production line to building the systems the plant runs on. Today I design and ship manufacturing metrics platforms, Power Platform solutions, and AI-driven automations that replace manual reporting and paperwork with tools people actually use. My edge is simple: I've done the jobs my software supports, so I build for the person on the floor, not the demo.

What I'm doing now

Systems Analyst at Integer Holdings since January 2026 — focused on manufacturing data, workflow automation, and practical AI inside a medical-device manufacturing environment.

Flagship build

Metrics Portal

A multi-department production metrics platform covering PTFE, PrecisionLiner, and Polyimide — hour-by-hour production tracking, standards lookup, pareto capture, and a Job × Job tracker, with department-aware logins and per-department admin. It replaced the original Precision Liner portal and went through UAT into a full production cutover.

Power Platform

Revenue Rollup Automation

The Supply Chain Action Center — a Canvas app for Trenton supply chain with separate Planner, CSS, and Management workspaces over a shared SharePoint Action Queue — plus 14 Power Automate flows handling the daily revenue rollup: Power BI snapshots, due-today and past-due summaries, and shipping outlook exports. Packaged as solution v2.0.2.

AI & automation

Practical AI, shipped

Beyond the plant, I design and run AI automations end to end — document processing with OCR, voice agents, content pipelines, and a self-hosted personal automation stack — the same patterns I bring to enterprise problems.

Experience

Select any role to expand it. The through-line: lead people, learn the process from the floor up, then build the system that makes it better.

  • Built the Metrics Portal — a Node.js/Express platform backed by Smartsheet that replaced the original Precision Liner data-entry portal and now covers PTFE, PrecisionLiner, and Polyimide: hour-by-hour production tracking, PTFE standards lookup, pareto capture, Job × Job tracking, department-aware logins, and per-department admin pages. Carried it through UAT to a production cutover in August 2026.
  • Built the Revenue Roll Up Automation solution (v2.0.2) for Trenton supply chain — the Supply Chain Action Center Canvas app (5 screens: role-based Home, My Planner Work, CSS Workspace, Management Workspace, and Management Lookahead / Shipping Outlook) backed by 14 Power Automate flows and SharePoint lists for the Action Queue, planner and CSS directories, app roles, and audit history. A daily flow pulls open orders from Power BI into the rollup workbook; the rest run the operation on a schedule — due-today summaries for planners and management, past-due monitoring, missing-assignment and blank-UOM alerts, a 72-hour planner SLA summary, six-week OTIF reminders, a weekly at-risk summary, planner-to-CSS handoffs with audit logging, and on-demand Shipping Outlook read and Excel export.
  • The portal lineage began as a data-entry tool for a 30-person department that cut analyst reporting time by more than 30% — then grew into the multi-department platform above.
  • Apply AI and automation daily: document processing, workflow agents, and reporting automation across manufacturing operations.
  • Led day-to-day production on the manufacturing floor — scheduling, throughput, and team coordination in a regulated medical-device environment.
  • Became the go-to problem solver for data and reporting pain points, building the first portal tools that later grew into the Metrics Portal — the work that led to the Systems Analyst role.
  • Started on the production line after a career change into manufacturing — learned the processes, products, and people from the operator's seat before ever writing a line of code for the plant.
  • Promoted twice in under two and a half years: Team Member II → Production Lead → Systems Analyst.

Retired from Charter Communications and traveled full-time across the United States with my wife for five years — running small businesses and a travel channel along the way — before settling in Henegar, Alabama and starting a second career in manufacturing.

  • Started at Bright House Networks in Auburndale, Florida, and stayed on through its acquisition by Charter Communications (Spectrum) — Charter later moved him to Fort Payne, Alabama.
  • Led 7 supervisors with a combined team of roughly 150–200 field technicians underneath them, across a multi-city Florida service area spanning Auburndale, Winter Haven, Lakeland, Lake Wales, and Davenport — with responsibility for quality, safety, productivity, and customer outcomes.
  • Developed a technician walkthrough and per-job questionnaire that every technician had to complete on each job; it reduced repeat service calls by about 30%.
  • Led supervisors and field technicians through a period of rapid network growth and technology change, including DOCSIS upgrades and the shift to all-digital service — turning data (repeat-visit rates, completion metrics, trouble-call trends) into coaching and process fixes, the habit that later became a systems career.
  • Thirteen years of progressive leadership in internet service and field operations — from frontline technical roles into supervision and management.
  • Deep hands-on grounding in networks, troubleshooting, and service delivery that still shapes how I design systems: if it doesn't work in the field, it doesn't work.

Supply Chain Action Center — Revenue Rollup Automation

A complete, packaged Power Platform solution for Trenton supply chain that turned a manual revenue-rollup chase into a governed daily system. The Canvas app gives each role its own workspace over one shared SharePoint Action Queue — planners work their orders, CSS works orders ready for them, and management gets due-today totals, a three-day lookahead, and the shipping outlook — while 14 flows keep the queue synced, audited, and everyone notified before work goes stale.

App — 5 screens: Home (role check against the App Roles list) · My Planner Work · CSS Workspace · Management Workspace · Management Lookahead / Shipping Outlook  ·  Data: SharePoint Action Queue, Planner & CSS directories, Audit History

Scheduled summaries — 8 flows

  • Daily Planner Due-Today — weekdays 7:45 AM ET, per-planner
  • Daily Management Due-Today — weekdays 8:00 AM, with 3-day lookahead totals
  • Past Due Monitor — weekdays 7:30 AM, awaiting-shipment orders
  • Missing Assignment Summary — no planner / no CSS assigned
  • 72-Hour Planner SLA Summary — unbooked items ageing past 72 hours
  • Blank-UOM CSS Notification — missing unit of measure
  • Six-Week OTIF Reminder — Mon / Wed / Fri, blanks in the 6-week horizon
  • Weekly At-Risk Summary — Mondays, at-risk and past-due lines per planner

Sync, handoff & audit — 4 flows

  • Snapshot and Archive — daily 6:00 AM: Power BI open orders → Excel rollup workbook, with weekly clear and monthly archive
  • Action Queue Sync — workbook → SharePoint queue, with reconciliation recovery
  • Planner and CSS Handoff — fires on queue changes; promise-date, schedule, hold, and partial-shipment handoffs
  • Audit Event Writer — writes every planner change to Audit History

Shipping Outlook — 2 flows

  • Shipping Outlook Read Report — called from the app; returns validated report rows for the Management Lookahead screen
  • Shipping Outlook Export — builds a formatted Excel export copy from the template for distribution

Automation, by the numbers

Automation is the thread through everything above. A snapshot of what's running:

14

Power Automate flows

In the Revenue Rollup solution alone — a daily Power BI snapshot into the rollup workbook, weekday due-today / past-due / at-risk summaries, OTIF and 72-hour SLA alerts, planner-to-CSS handoffs, and a full audit trail, all on schedule for Trenton supply chain.

3

Departments, one portal

PTFE, PrecisionLiner, and Polyimide reporting unified in the Metrics Portal instead of three separate spreadsheet regimes.

24/7

Self-hosted automation stack

A home server running Docker services — workflow automation, media, and scheduled jobs — that serves as my lab for patterns I later bring to work.

1

Rule for every build

If a human does it twice a week by hand, it gets automated — and the automation has to be simpler than the chore it replaced.
